
Glenn Finke, Chief Instructor/Owner, Go-Dan (Fifth
Degree Black Belt)

Mr. Finke has been training in the martial
arts since 1979. He established the Traditional Karate-Do Center
in 1996 in Warwick, New
York. Before that Mr. Finke taught at dojos
(training halls) in both Vernon, New Jersey
and Middletown, New York. He is the executive
council president and chairman of the board
of directors of the Traditional Karate Alliance
USA, member of the board of directors for
USA Kobudo, and is a member as an athlete,
coach or professional of the USA National Karate-Do
Federation (USA-NKF), the U.S. Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU) and the U.S. Martial
Arts Association. Mr. Finke has been a student
of the world renowned Goju-Ryu Karate Sensei
(Teacher) Mr. Teruo Chinen, Kyoshi (Master
Teacher), Mr. John A. Stellingwerf, Hanshi
(Grandmaster Teacher), of the Goshin-Ryu
Karate Association. He is a kobudo student
of Mr. Robert B. Herten, Kyoshi, of the United
Shorinryu Association and USA Kobudo. He
has also taken the opportunity to train under
several other high level martial arts instructors.
Mr. Finke is experienced in sport karate
competition, having won awards at the association,
regional, national and international levels,
as well as being a member of several U.S.
National Karate Teams. He is certified as
a judge and as a referee by both the USA-NKF
and the AAU, and has served as captain of
the New Jersey USA-NKF and AAU State Karate
Teams. Mr. Finke has received national recognition
from the U.S. Martial Arts Association (an
organization that has more than 1,200 martial
arts schools as members which promotes excellence
in teaching the martial arts), being cited
for growth of his dojo, leadership and excellence
in training. His dojo was also recognized
with the Top 200 Schools Award in 2001 by
the Martial Arts Business Association, being
cited for excellent instruction, leadership,
student progress and curriculum development.
He has a B.S. Degree in Business Administration/Marketing
from William Paterson College and is an avid
weight lifter.

Roger Garrison, Instructor

After training briefly in karate from 1973
to 1974, Mr. Garrison began training in the
martial arts again in 1994. He was recognized
as a shodan (first degree black belt) in 2000 and as a nidan (second degree black belt) in 2003 by
Mr. Glenn Finke. He has participated
in many tournaments and has won many awards.
Mr. Garrison was recognized as Adult Student
of the Year (1999), Legion of Honor (2000)
and Instructor of the Year (2001) by the
Traditional Karate-Do Center. He has been
instructing classes at the Traditional Karate-Do
Center since 1997. Mr. Garrison served in
the United States Navy from 1977-1982 and
is certified in First Aid and CPR.

Joseph Petrosi, T'ai Chi Ch'uan Instructor

Mr. Petrosi, who trained in Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan
Karate under Kyoshi Robert B.
Herten from
1974-1977, began training in
T'ai Chi Ch'uan
in 1990 after a back injury.
His first instructor
was Mr. Jim Marx. After training with Mr. Marx, Mr. Petrosi began teaching at the Traditional Karate-Do Center in 1997.
He has also studied T'ai Chi
Ch'uan and Qigong
under Masters Yang-Jwing Ming,
Tsung H. Jou
and Erle Montaigue. Mr. Petrosi
is certified
as an instructor of Qigong from
the Human
Life Research Foundation and
is a member
of both the International Yang
Style T'ai
Chi Ch'uan Association and the
World Taji
Boxing Association. In addition
to his teaching
Mr. Petrosi continues to train
on a regular
basis with several of the most
highly regarded
T'ai Chi Ch'uan instructors in
the world.
He was recognized as Instructor
of the Year
(2001) by the Traditional Karate-Do
Center.
