"WE ARE NOT ONES FOR TESTIMONIALS" "Generally speaking, we are not ones for testimonials. However, we just felt it was important to put in writing how much the Traditional Karate-Do Center has been for our son. You see, our son has special needs and we were looking for an activity that would provide exercise, as well as, develop self-confidence. He had tried soccer and riding and neither of those seemed to hold his interest. The karate program has far exceeded our expectations. Not only has he become physically fit, but he was involved in group activity that fostered the same values our family had. My son not only developed self-confidence but also a strong sense of who he is. The physical benefits are also obvious to all who know him. He began the program over a year ago with low muscle tone and through the weekly exercises his body is strong and solid. It has been a tremendous compliment to his occupational therapy. We can't speak highly enough about Glenn Finke and his karate program. His patience, dedication, and commitment to the development of young people are to be admired. He works well with the young children building in motivation, as well as developing perseverence through constant encouragement. The students earn their belts and look forward to promotion ceremonies. We have so much confidence in the program that we recently enrolled our daughter in the karate school. She couldn't wait to get to class and start working towards her first belt. The classes are fun and we enjoy watching them talk about what they did in class each day." Mary and Pat Fox, Warwick "IS DRIVING 30 MILES ONE WAY TO TRAIN AT SENSEI FINKE'S DOJO WORTH IT? YOU BET IT IS!" "I began practicing karate at age 40. After five years the dojo I was training in closed. Thus began my search for a new dojo. I tried several schools. Atttending classes on a trial basis. Looking for a Sensei to both motivate me to train hard and to get in the best possible physical condition. My search continued for months. Then a co-worker recommended Sensei Finke. As I drove to the dojo, I discovered that it is 30 miles one way from my house. I thought this won't last, why would I want to drive 60 miles round trip just to practice karate. I should keep looking for a dojo closer to home. Well, after attending one class, I was hooked. The travel time did not matter. Sensei Finke has taken my training to a higher level than I ever thought possible. I have been with Sensei Finke now for over 3 years. I am employed in the law enforcement field. Due to Sensei Finke's conditioning, I was able to attend the Defensive Tactics Instructors school and now teach Defensive Tactics to the law enforcement community. I am 48 years old and in better physical shape than most men my age. Sensei Finke's classes are not easy. You receive a work out that will make you sweat. But because you earn every belt, you take pride in your accomplishments. Stop by and see for yourself. It only took one lesson to know this is the place I want to train." Larry Schott, Ulster County |
